Biometric attendance closes the gap that cards and PINs leave open: they can be shared. ViRDI and UBio-X terminals identify each user by their own face, iris or fingerprint, so one employee cannot clock in for another, and fingerprint models add fake-finger detection to block copied prints.
How ViRDI Attendance Terminals Work
The terminal identifies the employee and records the event. Attendance software on a server then turns those events into working hours and reports.
- Identify: the employee presents a face, iris, finger or card at the terminal.
- Record: the terminal logs the event. UBio-X models such as the UBio-X Iris and UBio-X Slim store up to 10,000,000 event logs.
- Calculate: the software applies work rules, calculates working hours and builds daily and monthly attendance data.
- Report: attendance reports can be sent to users, with overtime notifications for staff who work extra hours.
- Manage sites: doors, areas and terminals can be monitored, and branch terminals managed remotely.
The terminal itself is the attendance device, so no separate attendance clock is needed. UBio-X models such as the UBio-X Iris, UBio-X Pro, UBio-X Pro Lite and UBio-X Slim run with the UBio Alpeta server software, and ViRDI terminals such as the AC-2100 PLUS run with UNIS.

Iris Attendance for Masks, Niqab and Protective Clothing
UBio-X Iris is an access control and time attendance terminal that reads the iris from up to 50 cm away. It authenticates users who wear glasses, masks, protective clothing, a niqab or a hijab, which makes it a practical choice where faces are covered or hygiene matters, such as hospitals, construction sites and airports.

Proxy clock-ins are the attendance problem that cards and PINs cannot solve. Biometric terminals tie every record to the person, and Union Biometrics adds anti-spoofing at the sensor:
